At Destiny Christian Preschool our two-year-old half-day class is designed for children just beginning to participate in group activities. Children must be 2 and a half by September 1st and potty trained to attend this class. Children are introduced to basic shapes, colors, name recognition, numbers, and letters. Our goal is to teach children that God loves them, Jesus is their friend and they can love Him. They are taught basic Bible lessons and repeat simple Bible verses. Two-year-olds know their likes and dislikes and enjoy repetition and routines. Recognizing this, our teachers introduce new activities slowly over time.
Destiny Christian Preschool recognizes that three-year-old children learn best by doing. In this Class, children receive personalized instruction from our teachers who balance daily activities between active and quiet play and provide opportunities for children to express themselves creatively through art, music, movement, and dramatic play. Children are encouraged to use their words when expressing emotion. Academic instruction focuses on name, letter, and number recognition as well as counting. Children learn Bible verses, as well as how to pray, worship, and trust God. Bible lessons increase children’s knowledge of who God is, that Jesus is God’s Son, how He loves them, and what they can do to show their love for Him. Group activities become positive experiences as three-year-old children’s attention spans grow. This class maximizes instruction and social interaction skills while focusing on center activities that develop necessary gross and fine motor skills.
